Our Engineering Team is seeking a hybrid Senior MAC Platform Software Engineer. You would be responsible for analysis design and implementation of the Platform Abstraction Layer (PAL) and Operating System Abstraction Layer (OSAL) software for TrellisWares wireless communication products. Enhancing cohesiveness and maintaining team morale is a responsibility of all our team members as is the ambition for selfimprovement and talent development. The essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Design implement and integrate embedded realtime software abstractions for RTOS APIs and hardware platform drivers.
- Bring up RealTime OS (e.g. FreeRTOS) on new hardware platforms.
- Develop and integrate RTOS/Linux Interprocessor Communication (IPC) between remote processors on board.
- Port TWT MAC software to new hardware platforms and RTOSes.
- Design develop and maintain Platform Abstraction Layer (PAL) and Operating System Abstraction (OSAL) libraries to improve software portability.
- Perform feasibility studies and performance analysis of realtime components.
- Document and present design alternatives using Engineering Department processes.
- Develops relationships with team members built on trust and respect.
Education and work experience requirements are:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- Minimum of five years of industry experience in handson development on embedded targets using realtime operating systems.
To be considered for this position you would need to meet at a minimum the knowledge skills and abilities listed here:
- Understanding of realtime operating systems their scheduling mechanisms interprocessor communication and memory management is required.
- Effective C programming skills with a strong understanding of objectoriented programming is required.
- Techniques and tools for debugging hardwaresoftware integration is required.
- A working knowledge of distributed version control (e.g. git) is required.
- A working knowledge of common embedded development tools (i.e. compilers linkers and debuggers) is required.
- Working well independently and within a team environment is required.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills are required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Strong collaborative drive and interpersonal skills.
- Strong initiative proactive work ethic and prioritization skills.
- Effective and decision making.
- Champion of change and promotes innovation.

TrellisWare Technologies pays competitively according to the market in an individuals geographic location in addition to their qualifications and experience. The posted range is for individuals located in the San Diego CA area. The pay range for this position is: $115$165k annually.
