Job Description

Are you passionate about coaching and dedicated to developing studentathletes both on and off the course Viterbo University is seeking a Head Mens and Womens Golf Coach to lead our golf programs with energy integrity and a commitment to excellence. This fulltime 10month position reports directly to the Director of Athletics and offers an exciting opportunity to shape and inspire studentathletes through skill development strategic competition and mentorship. This position would begin July 1 2025 for theseason.

As the head coach you will be responsible for organizing practices and competitions fostering positive relationships with studentathletes collaborating with university staff and alumni and contributing to the overall success of the athletics department. Responsibilities:

  1. Organize and oversee all aspects of intercollegiate athletic team.
  2. Recruit quality studentathletes to Viterbo University.
  3. Plan practices prepare team for competition coordinate offseason training program.
  4. Schedule competition coordinate travel and manage budget.
  5. Monitor and foster academic progress of studentathletes.
  6. Coordinate team involvement with community outreach or service projects.
  7. Generate booster club support and assist with departmental fundraisers.
  8. Hire train supervise and evaluate assistant coaches.
  9. Support and adhere to all institutional policies outlined in the employee handbook.
  10. Teach and embrace the five core values of the NAIAs Champions of Character initiative.
  11. Ensure that all program operations are compliant with Viterbo University and NAIA rules
  12. Attend all required departmental university and conference meetings.
  13. Carry out other responsibilities as delegated or assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree required; masters preferred. Background in education coaching or athletics administration desired. Experience as a successful high school or college coach is preferred. Understanding and appreciation of Catholic and Franciscan values; demonstrated knowledge of the sport and ability to train and develop studentathletes commitment to the academic achievement of studentathletes; good written oral and interpersonal skills; and proficiency in computer use including Microsoft Office. Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Viterbo University is unable to sponsor or take over the sponsorship of the Employment Visa.
