Design & Technology Teacher (Resistant Materials) ECT Opportunity

Contract: Fulltime Permanent
Salary: MPS1 (in line with national pay scales)
Are you a passionate and creative Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to begin your journey as a Design & Technology Teacher We are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming wellresourced state secondary school in Peterborough with a focus on Resistant Materials. As a DT Teacher specialising in Resistant Materials you will:
Teach a dynamic and engaging curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4 covering topics like product design material properties and practical manufacturing.
Lead handson projects using wood metal plastics and digital tools (e.g. CAD/CAM) to bring student ideas to life.
Promote a safe productive and inclusive workshop environment.
Support student progress through clear assessment and targeted feedback.
Work closely with colleagues on curriculum planning and enrichment opportunities.
Participate in extracurricular activities such as DT clubs practical workshops or school events.
Were looking for a passionate and reflective ECT who:
Holds or is on track to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by summer 2025.
Has a degree in Design & Technology Product Design Engineering or a related field.
Is enthusiastic about practical learning and engaging students through design and making.
Demonstrates good communication organisation and classroom presence.
Is eager to develop professionally and contribute to a strong department team.
