Job Description

AMI is seeking a strategic and analytical finance leader to join AMI as the Group Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This newly designed role will play a pivotal part in shaping the organizations financial future and longterm strategy. The role will lead financial planning forecasting budgeting and performance analysis across our panAfrican operations supporting datadriven decisionmaking and capital efficiency.
This is a highimpact role for a commercially astute finance professional who thrives in fastpaced entrepreneurial environments and is passionate about enabling African enterprises to scale sustainably.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Partner with the CFO and senior leadership team to drive longterm financial strategy and performance

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts including income expenditure cash flow and capital planning

  • Develop and maintain dynamic financial models to support scenario analysis resource allocation and investment decisions

Reporting & Insights

  • Design and improve systems for monthly management reporting business unit analysis and variance tracking

  • Provide timely datadriven insights on performance trends and recommend corrective actions where needed

  • Monitor and evaluate key financial KPIs and develop dashboards that enable realtime visibility and accountability

Business Partnering

  • Collaborate with heads of departments and regional leads to build capacity in financial understanding and ownership

  • Support strategic projects including pricing market expansion donorfunded program analysis and cost optimization

Governance & Tools

  • Contribute to the development of policies procedures and digital tools that enable scalability and compliance

  • Ensure financial practices align with internal controls external regulations and AMIs operational needs

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a small FP&A team fostering a culture of curiosity accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Provide professional development opportunities and build a successionready team


Requirements

  • A Masters degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field

  • Bachelor s degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field; professional certification (e.g. CPA ACCA CFA) preferred

  • Minimum 8 years experience in financial planning & analysis corporate finance or strategic finance roles

  • At least 5 years in a leadership or senior managerial role preferably in a fastgrowth multicountry context

  • Demonstrated experience in financial modeling data analysis and performance measurement

  • Advanced Excel and financial systems experience (e.g. ERP BI tools Power BI Tableau). Oracle Netsuite is an advantage

  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to work crossfunctionally with diverse teams

  • Selfdriven handson and adaptable; thrives in ambiguous environments
