Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service and Platform Manager Reporting to oversee the strategic management governance and administration of our Power BI platform. This role ensures the efficient operation security and scalability of Power BI within our organization while driving user adoption and best practices. Other Reporting Platforms will be included along our strategic development.
Responsibilities:
Power BI Service Ownership:
- Act as the single point of contact for all Power BIrelated topics within the organization.
- Define the Power BI strategy in alignment with the Automation team according to business needs and IT policies.
- Define and support the establishment of governance policies access controls and compliance measures for Power BI usage.
- Ensure Power BI aligns with organizational data security and privacy standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve the Power BI platform enhancing selfservice analytics capabilities.
- Monitor service adoption and usage trends to optimize the value of Power BI.
- Define Standards and Best practices for Data Usage as foundation for Power BI Self Service.
Power BI Platform Administration:
- Administer configure and maintain the Power BI service including licensing workspaces capacities and tenant settings.
- Manage user roles permissions and security models to ensure controlled access to reports and data.
- Monitor system performance troubleshoot issues and implement optimizations.
- Oversee integration with other Microsoft and thirdparty services such as Azure SQL Server and data warehouses and data lakehouses such as Databricks.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies including rowlevel security (RLS) and data loss prevention (DLP).
- Plan and execute updates patches and migrations in coordination with IT teams.
Support & Enablement:
- Provide guidance training and best practices to Power BI users across the organization.
- Act as an escalation point for Power BI support issues and coordinate with Microsoft support when needed.
- Develop and maintain documentation on Power BI governance guidelines and operational procedures.
- Foster a community of practice for Power BI users to share knowledge and best practices.
Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Data Analytics or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 35 years of experience in administering and managing Power BI in an enterprise environment.
- Deep knowledge of Power BI administration security and governance best practices.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform Azure services and SQL databases.
- Strong understanding of data modeling DAX and Power Query.
- Handson experience with managing Power BI capacities workspaces and licensing models.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) and change management processes.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills with a proactive approach.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Power BI automation using PowerShell.
- Understanding of DevOps CI/CD for Power BI deployments.
- Knowledge of enterprise security frameworks and cloud infrastructure.
