Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled and dynamic Relief Manager for a luxury game lodge based in the Greater Kruger area. This position is ideal for a passionate hospitality professional who enjoys a varied role working across all departments and supporting the smooth daytoday operations of the lodge.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining high service standards supporting the team and ensuring guests receive a worldclass safari experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daytoday lodge operations ensuring exceptional service delivery
Uphold the brand and operational standards of the lodge at all times
Act as the anchor in the absence of the Lodge Manager
Support health and safety compliance throughout the property
Assist with the lodge maintenance system and any teamrelated matters
Manage and control stock levels across all departments
Coordinate communication between departments to ensure smooth operations
Provide support with central procurement deliveries and invoicing
Handle daily administration duties
Host guests and build strong guest rapport
Soft Skills:
Proven ability to lead motivate and coach a large team
Strong guest relations and interpersonal skills
Clear and confident communicator
Track record of meeting targets and goals
Effective problem solver with sound decisionmaking skills
High level of emotional intelligence
Technical Skills:
Excellent command of English
Computer literate and technologically savvy
Basic accounting or bookkeeping knowledge (experience with Xero beneficial)
Knowledge of reservation systems (Travelyst experience is an advantage)
Strong proficiency in Excel is highly advantageous
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years in a similar relief anchor or assistant lodge management role
Hospitality diploma degree or equivalent qualification
Valid driver s licence
Willingness to live onsite and work in a remote location
Position Details:
Contract Type: Permanent
Work Cycle: 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Location: Greater Kruger
