Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detailoriented Extruder/Laminating Machine Operator Inspector to join our team in Killingly CT. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and inspecting extruder and laminating machines to ensure the production of materials that meet our quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of the extrusion and lamination processes as well as the ability to use precision measuring tools for quality control.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operating and inspecting extruder and laminating machines including setting up and adjusting machine parameters to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitoring machine operations including material flow temperature and speed to ensure quality and efficiency of the extrusion and lamination processes.
  • Performing quality checks on materials at various stages of production identifying defects or deviations from specifications and documenting findings.
  • Using calipers micrometers and other precision measuring tools to verify that materials meet dimensional and tolerance requirements.
  • Conducting visual inspections of materials for surface defects inconsistencies and other quality issues.
  • Making adjustments to machines as needed to maintain quality and minimize waste.
  • Documenting inspection results production data and any deviations from quality standards.
  • Adhering to all safety regulations and operating procedures related to the operation of extruder and laminating machines.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area around the extruder and laminating machines.
  • Collaborating with other production personnel including machine operators and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and resolve any production or quality issues.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating and inspecting extruder and laminating machines is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control skills with a focus on identifying and addressing defects in materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications instructions and technical drawings related to the extrusion and lamination processes.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills related to extruder and laminating machinery.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools and inspection equipment including calipers and micrometers.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills with the ability to effectively communicate quality issues to other team members.
  • Ability to work independently follow procedures and adhere to production schedules.
  • Ability to maintain high attendance standards and work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to strictly adhere to written and verbal instructions including safety protocols and operating procedures.
