The Opportunity
Village Media is seeking a recent graduate to join our Finance Team in a newly created Accounting Clerk internship role. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent Accounting graduate to join this fastgrowing company to gain valuable real world business experience to develop skills and work toward their professional accounting designations. Reporting to the Controller the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for essential tasks including accounts payable deposits taking payments responding to customer inquiries reporting and more.
This position will start as a oneyear internship with the potential to transition to a fulltime position.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will evolve over time as skills are developed:
Accounts Payable: Entering bills and receipts
Accounts Receivable: Applying payments
Responding to customer phone calls and emails
Scanning and filing documents
Taking credit card payments
Bank deposits
Reporting
Other duties as assigned or as needed for vacation coverage
Eligible Applicants
This position is supported by NOHFCs Workforce Development Program which has specific requirements for eligible applicants:
Are new entrants into the work force (Eg: recent graduates) are transitioning to a new career in accounting or are unemployed or underemployed and entering the accounting field.
Have not previously participated in an NOHFCfunded internship.
Are at least 18 years of age.
Reside and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Live in near or be willing to relocate to Sault Ste. Marie Ont.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in accounting bookkeeping or related field.
You are organized you strive for accuracy and you enjoy finding solutions to problems.
You are flexible and can adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
You are proficient with accounting systems and spreadsheets.
You have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships and collaborate effectively across departments.
You have strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and accurately with external clients.
