Job Description

The hospital is developing its paediatric services further to provide a day case surgical pathway from April 2025! We are initially treating minor and moderate complexity surgery for clinically well children above the age of 3.

To support this pathway and ensure the delivery of safe and highquality care the hospital seeks postFRCA stage 2 or 3 trainees who have completed Stage 2 paediatric competencies or equivalent.

Applicants need to be EPALS or APLS providers at the point at which they commence work for the hospital.

St John & St Elizabeth Hospital has an everincreasing paediatric demand within its Urgent Care Centre as well as within its dedicated paediatric outpatient department.

There is opportunity for strategic growth within children and young peoples services and successful applicants are encouraged to be a part of this exciting journey!

Am I the right person for this Paediatric Anaesthetist role

  • Post FRCA stage 2 or 3 trainees who have completed stage 2 paediatric competencies or
  • NonHEE trainee who has completed FRCA and competencies or
  • Nontraining grade doctor who is able to demonstrate their paediatric experience
  • EPALS provider
  • Level 3 Paediatric Safeguarding (hospital is able to support)
  • Able to obtain enhanced DBS check (hospital will arrange)
  • Commitment to support hospital develop successfully safe and effective paediatric day case surgical pathway
