Job Description

WEAVEs mission is to promote safe and healthy relationships and support survivors of sexual domestic violence and sex trafficking. WEAVEs vision is When Everyone Acts Violence Ends.

Under the direct supervision of the Counseling Services Manager the Associate Therapist will provide crisis intervention safety planning and therapeutic individual and group counseling services to children youth and adults who have experienced or been exposed to domestic and sexual violence. Clinical supervision is provided by WEAVE. This position is a mandated reporter of known or suspected child or elder/dependent adult abuse under California law.

We are seeking candidates interested in a parttime or fulltime role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide culturally responsive and inclusive individual and group counseling for children youth and adults who have experienced or been exposed to domestic violence sexual sex trafficking.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
  • Deliver services at WEAVE sites and other locations in the community as needed.
  • Connect clients to appropriate other supportive services and resources both within WEAVE and elsewhere in the community.
  • When appropriate advocate for the concerns of clients with their support systems schools the legal system social service agencies and other helping professionals.
  • Participate in individual and group clinical supervision as required to maintain Associate Therapist credentialing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams external agencies and community partners to coordinate activities and referrals for services as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings training sessions and oneonone meetings with supervisors to ensure successful completion of project goals and to enhance skills knowledge and awareness of domestic violence issues and case management best practices.
  • Promote a culture of respect for all within WEAVE and the community.
  • Consistent with agency and program requirements maintain accurate timely and confidential records of services provided.
  • Adhere to all agency and department policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • ASW AMFT or APCC with current BBS registration.
  • Professional experience providing counseling services within domestic violence and sexual services programs.
  • Demonstrated crisis intervention and problemsolving experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive work and services environment; experience working with diverse communities preferred.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of anddemonstratedcommitment to the WEAVE mission and values.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills; excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Proficient in database management and all Microsoft Office products.
  • Satisfactory results of civil and criminal background checks.
  • Successful completion WEAVEs 69hour peer counselor training program (posthiring requirement).
  • Annual completion of WEAVEs continuing education requirements tomaintainPeer Counselor certification.
  • Valid California Drivers license and reliable transportation including vehicle insurance.

Work environment is primarily a busy office setting and the California Legislature. Local travel (driving) will be required to conduct activities or provide accompaniments at various area locations. Employees may need to move around and between floors and buildings occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 25 lbs. or reach items above their head below their waist or stored in/on drawers and shelves. Employees may also need to remain in one position (i.e. sitting or standing) for an extended period while completing work tasks. Must be able to efficiently operate a keyboard and mouse or adaptive equivalent write reports take notes; utilize desk tools such as phones or calculators and utilize larger office equipment such as printers and copy machines. Communicate clearly and concisely to others. Apply above average reasoning and attention to detail as required in the accomplishment of job duties.
