Ready to Lead the Fleet Join Us in Powering the Citys Heavy Vehicle Repair Operations!

The Department of Facility MaintenanceAutomotive Equipment Service Divisionis looking for anAutomotive Equipment Superintendent IIto lead all heavy vehicle repair operations relating to City & County vehicles under Automotive Equipment Service jurisdiction.

As anAutomotive Equipment Superintendent II your duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Supervising directing and coordinating through subordinate Supervisors the repair activities of the Maintenance & Repair Branch. This Branch encompasses the Heavy Vehicle Repair Shops and their associated satellite shops.
  • Developing recommending evaluating and implementing work methods practices procedures training programs and equipment/tool research to ensure consistent repair standards enhance work efficiency and maintain productivity.
  • Participating in the development of Divisional work policies operational and reporting procedures.
  • Conducting periodic review of vehicle activity records documents files and work orders.
  • Assisting in the preparation and justification of annual budget requests and unbudgeted equipment requests related to the Heavy Vehicle Repair Shops.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities of the position.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a noncitizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from high school with courses in mathematics. Responsible work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Six years of supervisory experience in the installation repair maintenance and overhaul of automotive and mechanical equipment.

Experience must have included the repair and overhaul of complex hydraulic and electrical systems on a variety of heavy vehicles such as dump trucks truck tractors and/or refuse trucks.
