Title: Software Development Engineer II Data
Location: One Washington Park Newark NJ 07102
Duties: Design develop implement test document and operate largescale highvolume highperformance data structures for business intelligence analytics. Implement data structures using best practices in data modeling ETL/ELT processes SQL AWS and OLAP technologies. Provide a logical abstraction layer against large multidimensional datasets and multiple sources. Gather business and functional requirements and translate requirements into robust scalable operable solutions that work well within overall data architecture. Analyze source data systems and drive best practices in source teams. Participate in full development life cycle endtoend from design implementation and testing to documentation delivery support and maintenance. Produce comprehensive usable dataset documentation and metadata. Evaluate and make decisions around dataset implementations designed and proposed by peer data engineers. Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools. Mentor junior data engineers. Position reports into Newark NJ office; however telecommuting from a home office may be allowed.
Requirements: Requires a Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field plus one 1 year of experience as a Software Engineer Operations Analyst or a related occupation.
Experience may be gained concurrently and must include one 1 year of developing and operating largescale data structures for business intelligence analytics using each of the following:
ETL/ELT processes
OLAP technologies
Data modeling
SQL
Big data
Streaming technologies such as Spark Hive or Kafka.
Alternatively will accept a Bachelors degree and five 5 years of experience.
