RESTORE is hybrid delivered meaning that there are prerecorded ACT training materials for participants to work through at their own pace. These are supported by live online group sessions that you will coordinate and deliver. These group sessions will share experience troubleshoot strategy use foster engagement and encourage behaviour change. In addition you will use Teams chat messaging to support participants between live sessions as they work through the selfdirected learning.
You will receive specific training on the RESTORE protocol and regular supervision to ensure fidelity and skilful delivery. You may be involved in helping to create prerecorded ACT intervention materials. You may also be involved in engaging with hospice sites creating relationships that foster recruitment and retention of participants.
The trial has funding for up to 1.2 FTE therapists we seek a minimum of two therapists. There can be some flexibility about the split between therapists though we will begin with a default of two therapists at 0.6 FTE each. The minimum time that is likely to be workable is 0.4 FTE. If we have three appointable candidates all seeking 0.4 FTE we can consider that. Our priority is to ensure that we maximise the use of this resource.
There can be a high degree of flexibility about the pattern of work for the successful appointees though online group delivery is likely to be during standard office hours. As all of the intervention will be delivered online there is no requirement for the trial therapists to be based in Edinburgh though candidates must be resident in the UK and eligible for work in the UK.
Successful candidates will begin their appointments from 1 August 2025 and these will be fixed term contracts until 31July 2027 24 months)
