The General Counsel is responsible for representing CSN in various administrative state and federal courts and must be familiar with civil litigation practice and procedures. The General Counsel is also responsible for providing analysis and guidance on Nevadas Public Records Act Nevadas Open Meeting Law; and the Board of Regents Handbook NSHE Code and Procedures and Guidelines Manual and the Nevada Administrative Code. The General Counsel will be expected to work effectively with students faculty staff and CSN administration in achieving CSNs institutional goals and objectives in developing an exceptionally qualified diverse and enriched workforce who diligently supports the institutions mission.
The General Counsel is expected to foster an environment of collegiality mutual respect openness approachability and collaboration in the administration and operations of CSN and to also work with the employee groups NSHE System Administration and the General Counsels and administrations of other NSHE institutions. This individual will additionally supervise the Associate and Assistant General Counsel Legal Research and Administrative Support Staff.
