Job Description
NORC at the University of Chicago (NORC)is an objective nonpartisan research organization that delivers insights and analysis decisionmakers trust.
NORC partners with government corporate and nonprofit clients around the world to conduct survey research that informs critical decisions facing society.
- NORC Field Data Collectors internally known as field interviewers play a significant role in collecting the data that drives our research.
- Available to work a flexible parttime schedule. Our most successful interviewers typically dedicate 46 hours a day to work on their assignments.
- Selfstarter who can manage organize and commit to their own work schedule.
- Enjoys meeting new people from diverse backgrounds and professions.
- Available to make cold contacts both by phone and inperson to gain cooperation with new sample members.
- Willing to conduct interviews both by phone and inperson at the respondents home jobs or other public places.
- NORC Field Interviewer Experience Required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED Preferred.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule of 20 25 hours per week.
- Must be comfortable contacting people inperson at their homes often without notice.
- Flexible availability to work a mix of weekdays and evenings/weekends often to reach people who are not home during the work week.
- Valid drivers license automobile insurance and access to reliable transportation.
- Must reside within 100 miles of the location displayed in this job posting.
- Must have basic knowledge of tablet or laptop usage skills such as sending emails or joining a video training call.
- Lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs up and down stairs as needed.
- All employees hired for this position must present evidence of their identity and authorization to work in the United States (I9 documentation).
- Qualified applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. We regret that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
This position is classified as intermittent. The pay range for this position will be $19.00 $28.41 per hour based on experience and geographic location.
- NORC will contribute to an individually owned fully vested retirement account with TIAA at a rate of $4.93 (Review TIAA Amount) for each hour worked and contributions will be made on a quarterly basis.
- Intermittent staff are eligible to make pretax or posttax contributions as part of NORCs Supplemental Retirement Plan.
