The Coral Springs Police Department has a diverse workforce with an authorized strength of 230 police officers and over 99 civilian members who are dedicated to providing the highest level of professional service to our citizens businesses and the visitors we serve. We are nationally accredited as an Accreditation with Excellence Agency in both Law Enforcement and Communications through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) as well as a Meritorious Agency at the state level through the Florida Commission for Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA). Under general supervision the purpose of the position is to perform a wide variety of semiskilled maintenance and repair work in one or more of the trade disciplines e.g. A/C; electrical masonry plumbing carpentry. Performs all work according to established safety standards building codes and regulations applicable to the work. Employees in this classification have previous experience in the trade and can perform tasks independently though work remains subject to review and inspection during and upon completion of assigned tasks.

Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms e.g. use of safe work place practices with office equipment avoidance of trips and falls and observance of fire and building safety regulations and traffic signals when driving. The work is heavy work which requires exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
