Job Description

RDS of Virginia LLC is a wellestablished company whose core business is recycling processing and marketing materials. RDS operates five different facilities across three different states servicing the recycling needs of thousands of companies and households. RDS is committed to recovering as much material as possible from the waste stream for both the short and longterm health of our environment.


Job Summary:


RDS CDL Drivers must drive safely keep their attention on the road and ensure that their cargo reaches its destination. They can adapt to changes quickly be professional work independently and navigate unfamiliar areas successfully.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre and postoperation inspection of the equipment to ensure the vehicle is in proper driving condition.
  • Safely and efficiently operate equipment and vehicle using proper safety standards.
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions troubleshoot equipment and find new routes when needed.
  • Keep the vehicle clean with all fluids and filters checked daily.
  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
  • Be able to follow an assigned route and utilize a tablet to complete all jobs.
  • Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and coworkers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Excellent followthrough: ability to adhere to work schedule and will follow through on challenges as they arise.
  • Ability to adhere to RDS policies and rules set forth; promotes the RDS safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills with the ability to utilize software programs.
  • Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a valid CDL B License Required.
  • Candidate must have RollOff experience
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Outstanding driving record without incidents or major traffic violations.
  • Minimum two 2 years of recent related experience in heavy truck operation Rolloff driving & Tractor Trailer Pulling.
  • One 1 year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Status: FullTime 40 hours per week). Hourly. NonExempt.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must successfully pass a drug/alcohol screening and physical ability test and be insurable.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant operations.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the entire body. This will include climbing lifting balancing walking carrying and stopping.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.
