Job Description

Purpose of Role

Under supervision the Graduate Assistant for Athletics Operations provides general or specific support to Daemen Athletics in the areas including but not limited to sports game/event management work study student oversight and other administrative areas as deemed necessary. The selected applicant will receive a tuition waiver for up to 18 graduate credits for theacademic calendar year (August 1 2025 May 31 2026. The applicant will be responsible for the costs of any fees and books associated with the program. Campus housing may be offered if space is available. This position may be renewed for the next academic year conditional upon satisfactory performance availability of funds adherence to employment protocols and remaining in good academic standing. The selected person will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the term of appointment.

About This Opportunity

Joining our Athletic team the Graduate Assistant for Athletics Operations will be responsible for the following:

Primary Duties:

  • Performs scheduling for all Daemen Athletics federal work study and Daemen work program employees (ie. student workers) for the AWC Fitness Center/Gym Lumsden Gym and Daemen games/events.
  • Serve as both the primary and secondary game administrator for assigned games and other events; perform supervisory functions over student workers games/events.
  • Assist with game day and event day setup and teardown as assigned throughout the academic year.
  • Creation of game day PA scripts protocols and staffing documents for specific events.
  • Oversee stock and inventory concessions operations for all athletic contests.
  • Management of Daemen ticket office.
  • Management of onsite laundry for athletic teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Paid Stipend to cover 9 Graduate credits per semester. Fees not covered.

Secondary Duties:

  • Serve as onsite administrator for studentathlete study hall hours (assigned by the Director of Athletics Operations).
  • Provide office hours to assist with Athletics Operations duties.
  • Assist with management of Academic and Wellness Center on an as needed basis.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Athletic Director.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to work both traditional and nontraditional business hours.
  • Ability to receive telephone calls/emails respond to inquiries and communicate with others by telephone/email.
  • General interest in sports and a working knowledge of rules and regulations for various sports.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use and maintenance of various social media platforms including Facebook Twitter and Instagram.
  • Ability to drive a personal or university vehicle for the purpose of university business on a regular basis.
  • Current certification in CPR AED and First Aid. Annual Blood Borne Pathogen education/training with the Office of Human Resources.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1 Bachelors degree.

2 Admission into a post graduate program at Daemen University is required.

3 Demonstrated computer proficiency.
