Work Schedule: Sunday and Monday 3:00pm 11:30 pm

What does a Therapist II Crisis Stabilization do

As a PartTime Therapist II in Crisis Stabilization at HamptonNewport News Community Services Board youll play a vital role in our Crisis Services which encompass emergency counseling respite intervention and shortstay stabilization. You will manage a caseload of clients living with mental illness and substancerelated disorders collaborating with the agencys Crisis Continuum Clinical Services and other RegionV CSBs. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach you will conduct rapid assessments evaluations and crisis interventions while monitoring psychiatric and medical needs.

Your expertise will be instrumental in providing individual and group therapy psychoeducational services and active coordination for care and stabilization. You will create tailored treatment plans that address the specific therapeutic needs of clients ensuring effective followup and aftercare. Your work will have an immediate impact on clients progress playing a crucial role in promoting mental health recovery and enhancing the quality of counseling services provided.

What you need to be successful

To thrive as a PartTime Therapist II in Crisis Stabilization at HamptonNewport News Community Services Board candidates must possess a masters degree in human services and a minimum of two years of postgraduate clinical experience. Your background should include therapeutic counseling crisis intervention and case management skills which are essential for managing complex client needs. As a licensed Mental Health Clinicianwhether as an LCSW LPC or LMFTyoull be equipped to deliver highquality care in a fastpaced environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team ensuring cohesive service delivery. Additionally adaptability and problemsolving abilities will enable you to navigate various situations encountered during crisis interventions. Familiarity with software tools for documentation and case management will enhance your efficiency in providing comprehensive support.

Being eligible or approved for MCO credentialing is also crucial to maintain compliance with regional standards and enhance your professional practice.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Masters degree in human services and minimum of two 2 years postgraduate clinical experience including therapeutic counseling crisis intervention and case management functions.
  • Licensed as a Mental Health Clinician such as Licensed Clinical Social Worker Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
  • Must be eligible or approved for MCO credentialing.
