We are looking for a Respiratory Therapist to work in Price UT supporting our client.



Must Have:

  • Utah State License Respiratory Therapist Certification Respiratory or Respiratory Care Practitioner
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
  • At least 1 year of experience

Job Description:

Examines patients with breathing-related conditions and conducts diagnostic testing. Consults with physicians to develop and implement a treatment plan for the patient. Performs physiotherapy and other treatments and teaches patients to use medications.

Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Essential Functions

  • Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
  • Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes current research and best practices.
  • Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
  • Educates the patient and family about the patients illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
  • Monitors receives stocks and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.

  • Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements including all state TJC and Federal regulations in their area of practice.
  • Attends and participates in department staff meetings; reads and signs all meeting minutes as acknowledgement of information received; demonstrates compliance and knowledge of new changes within department and hospital.
  • Consistently supports the mission vision and goals of the organization. Acts in a positive proactive manner to support department and hospital efforts in the community and with co-workers.
  • Complies with annual TB and Fit Testing requirements as it related to the job.
  • Has demonstrated an awareness and implementation of National Patient Safety Goals as applicable in their area of practice.
  • Knows understands and adheres to system/hospital/department policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates and takes responsibility for workplace safety.
  • Exhibits knowledge regarding the hazard and injury reporting procedures.
  • Complies with Confidentiality/ HIPAA requirements and observes patient privacy needs.
  • Understands Cultural/spiritual diversity issues as they relate to the job; is cognizant of patients cultural differences and includes spiritual health as a component of patient car e.
  • Practices proper infection control techniques and understands importance of following IC requirements. Attends mandatory in-services staff meetings and pertinent seminars.
  • Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
  • Disassembles cleans and sterilizes equipment and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.
  • Completes mandatory annual education requirements.
  • Maintains all licenses and certification in good standing and active.

Ability to describe and conduct a "Huddle" and explain when it is conducted and what is discussed.

Ability to describe and conduct a "Brief and explain when it is conducted and what is discussed.

Ability to describe and conduct a "De-Brief and explain when it is conducted and what is discussed.

Ability to describe the "Learning Board" and give an example of what has been put on the learning board in past.

Ability to communicate what Executive Patient Safety Rounds (EPSR) are and participate when ESPRs are conducted.
