MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrate ability to write and effectively communicate information in a variety of formats and to multiple audiences.
Must possess flexibility in responding to multiple tasks determining priorities and meeting numerous deadlines.
Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively in a variety of situations.
Must demonstrate strong technology skills that support communication processes.
Must possess strong digital skills
Experience with multiple social media platforms.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assists in the development and maintenance of communication goals strategies and plans.
Leverage digital outreach tools to build and strengthen communication with internal and external school partners.
Manage and upkeep social media platforms including school district accounts on Facebook Twitter and Instagram.
Manage and upkeep the district website and oversee individual schools website within the district.
Photograph district events for publications and displays.
Write and distribute news releases editorial pieces and columns for use by the media.
Ensure consistent branding both internally and externally in school materials and resources.
Create and oversee the distribution of school communications including monthly newsletters quarterly printed newsletter enrollment fliers promotional materials etc.
Coordinates annual report requirements to the State of Michigan.
Coordinates drill requirements to Oakland County and the State of Michigan.
Assists in the coordination of public relations events including sending invitations corresponding with community stakeholders sharing information with local media outlets reserving venues and supporting audiovisual needs.
Craft external communications presentations etc. for school leadership including the review of outgoing messages and materials.
Provides support in communicating school closures or emergency events including updating social media feeds emails text alerts and updating website content.
Establishes and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders. May serve as the representative in key stakeholder groups.
Position requires occasional attendance of events and response to emergent situations outside of normal business hours.
Support the enrollment process including the creation of marketing materials
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Participate on committees as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelors Degree in Journalism Communications Marketing or equivalent.
LANGUAGE MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS:Ability to speak and write to apply mathematical concepts to practical to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
