Job Description:

The right person is an experienced Software Development Manager with proven experience leading a fastmoving engineering team. With a strong technical background great communication (writing/verbal) skills and solid people management skills to manage and develop a talented and experienced engineering team as it is essential for the success in this role. Key job responsibilities
As part of this role you will:
* Own the charter and vision of your team and work with PM UX and Applied Science teams to build the best shopping experience for millions of Alexa Shopping customers.
* Hire and develop talents for your team.
* Work with stakeholders to build attractive roadmaps and deliver high quality products for customers.
* Exhibit excellent judgment on how to prioritize between focusing on existing versus new customers and between features architectural improvements and operational excellence.
* Improving and operating mechanisms that drive higher velocity for features and key decisions.

Degree in Computer Science Engineering Math or equivalent work experience.
10 years of software development experience working in objectoriented design and coding in Java C# or related technologies.
Proven experience working with scalable and complex architecture.
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing software engineering teams.
Proven leadership skills and teamwork skills.
Experience guiding and mentoring software development engineers.
Strong design architecture and problemsolving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of technical and nontechnical audiences.

Successfully taken a v1 product from inception to customer delivery.
M.S. in Mathematics Computer Science Engineering or related field.
Proven experience in leading Applied Scientists Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers.
Expertise in NLP (Natural Language Processing) IR (Information Retrieval) Search and Recommendation systems.
Experience in building bigdata pipelines and solving customer problems using Machine Learning and Data Science.
Strong product management and development skills.
