Job Description

Position Specific Summary

The Clinical Practice Leader (CPL) for the Pediatric Specialty Clinic is an expert clinician and nurse leader with a masters in nursing or doctorate in nursing practice degree.

The CPL leads clinical care delivery within a healthcare setting at the clinical microsystem level(i.e. small interdependent group who works together to provide care for a specific group of patients embedded in larger organization) such as an inpatientunit clinical service line or ambulatory service focuses on improving patient outcomes patient experience reducing costs and enhancing revenue through the assimilation and application of evidencebased information to design implement and evaluate patient care.

    Key Areas of Responsibility:

    • Staff Education: Leads and provides unitbased staff education and development
    • Quality: Leads quality and process improvements
    • Patient and familycentered care: Models and ensures Patient and FamilyCentered Care

    The Clinical Practice Leader improves the quality of patient care and enhances unit effectiveness by:

    • Promoting critical thinking and innovation in nursing practice and patient care
    • Leading and supporting a culture of evidencebased practice and research
    • Implementing effective decision making and productively managing change
    • Leading interdisciplinary collaboration and team work
    • Collaborating with care coordinators navigators specialty nurses and social workers to facilitate patient care and transitions across the continuum

    Percent of Time: 100
    Schedule: 40 hours per week MondayFriday day shift
