Remitly is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join the Small and Micro Business team with a focus on fraud detection risk analysis and compliance support. This is a unique opportunity to work on a new product line from the ground up where your analytical insights will directly help shape how we prevent fraud and maintain trust at scale.
As a Senior Data Analyst you will work with product managers risk teams data scientists and engineers to analyze fraud patterns build dashboards develop monitoring tools and inform strategic decisions. Youll help lay the foundation for how we use data to detect fraud and mitigate risk ensuring the integrity of our business payments platform as it scales globally. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems with data and has a strong business sense. Your work will directly impact customer experience and business performance. This role is hybrid and based in Vancouver BC Canada.
You Will:
- Become an expert on Remitlys Payments Fraud (Scams Chargebacks Promo Abuse) data experience policy and regulatory requirements
- Analyze customer behavior and transactional data to detect patterns indicative of fraud.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that track fraud trends and key risk metrics and deliver actionable insights.
- Develop test and deploy fraud rules in collaboration with program operations and engineering teams to reduce fraudulent activity.
- Partner with data scientists and engineers to refine and operationalize fraud detection models.
- Collaborate with product risk compliance and engineering teams to influence roadmap and priorities with datadriven recommendations.
- Design and run experiments (e.g. A/B tests) to evaluate the effectiveness of fraud controls and mitigation strategies.
You Have:
- 5 years of experience in product analytics fraud/risk analytics or data analysis roles.
- Expert in SQL and proficient in tools like Python or R for data analysis.
- Experience with fraud detection strategies risk scoring and related metrics.
- Experience with data visualisation tools like Tableau or similar.
- Clear communicator with a knack for simplifying complex data insights for business stakeholders.
- Bachelors or advanced degree in a quantitative field (Statistics Economics Computer Science etc..
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $120000 to $150000. In Canada Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
