Seeking a highly intelligent wellconnected and experienced corporate communications professional to join our team in Sydney.
This role is a parental leave fixed term contract for 1214 months.
As Corporate Communications Manager your role will be internal and external. You will develop and drive proactive communications programs that tell the story of Amazons growing impact in Australia and our Sustainability initiatives and programs and manage a range of complex issues critical to reputation. Additionally you will set the strategy for internal comms across our corporate organization delivering impactful internal communications initiatives.
The right candidate will be flexible and resourceful with a strong track record of internal communications campaign and issues management for complex highprofile businesses. Reporting to the Head of Communications for Australia this individual will work closely with business leaders industry and general news media and other external stakeholders. They will also collaborate with international colleagues as part of a global communications function.
Excellent writing skills are imperative for this role. The right candidate must be able to create concise and wellwritten narratives to express their opinions and ideas and be able to invent creative and effective approaches to difficult communications challenges. The successful candidate should possess strong initiative a talent for collaboration and have strong evidence of . They will have experience working to high standards under tight deadlines.
The position is a 1214 month Fixed Term Contract based in Sydney.
Key job responsibilities
Work with partners across the business and global comms teams to source communications and original content focused on employee experiences and Amazons culture.
Lead on internal communications programs that reinforce business and Amazon priorities and strategy.
Deliver strategic communications counsel to internal leaders on short and longterm challenges and opportunities
Successfully manage complex fastmoving and often unexpected communications challenges
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of activity and messaging
Develop and manage integrated public relations programs that drive awareness of Amazons positive impact in Australia
Build strong relationships with retail technology business sustainability and vertical trade media and other external stakeholders to support corporate reputation goals.
Research and integrate industry news trends and compelling angles into PR programs
Write develop and manage approvals for internal comms news releases media advisories fact sheets and related media materials for Amazon Australia.
7 years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
Bachelors degree
Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence cross functionally
Proven experience working to develop internal communications strategies
Experience working across sustainability initiatives
Exposure to both agency and in house PR environments
