Job Description

Job Description Summary

The Senior Quality Leader will lead the Quality organization at Schenectady Cores and Castings (SCC) reporting directly to the plant leader. This role is responsible for the SCC Quality Management System Built in Quality implementation Testing Lab operations and NDT activities. The Senior Quality Leader will work cross functionally with the Operations team Process Engineering and Product Engineering teams on Process improvements Quality initiatives and qualifications for new employees products processes and equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ownership of quality assurance and control for assigned products/manufacturing area:
  • Includes conformance of manufacturing goods leading complex root cause and corrective action investigations to address and eliminate production nonconformances.
  • Influence crossfunctional teams within the supply chain to solve problems and address risk.
  • Analyzing identifying and implementing process improvements which will enhance capability and performance.
  • Review and assure compliance with engineering drawings work instructions and other technical documents.
  • Initiate action as it is required to ensure project / team success (e.g. mitigate risks problem solve provide technical guidance etc..
  • Ensuring control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement activities as part of a crossfunctional team.
  • Review technical documentation with a view to Quality and Compliance requirements and act as approval authority.
  • Apply standard engineering techniques to assigned tasks and ensure that specific goals are met in terms of quality quantity and timeliness in order to meet department goals.
  • Direct operations of the test Lab.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college with 4 years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens lawful permanent residents and protected individuals (e.g. certain refugees and asylees). GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to development strong teams.
  • Previous quality experience in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Experience participating in root cause and corrective action investigations in technical applications with crossfunctional teams.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and process capability and control.
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally.
  • A selfstarter motivated to solve problems and create out of the box solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Proven capability in interpersonal relationships and communication.
  • Established project management skills. Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects / programs. Ability to document plan market and execute programs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • NDT Level II or III certification.

Pay Transparency

The base pay range for this position is$122600$180000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety offactors including the candidates experience education and skill set. This position is also eligible for a15 performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110 120 or 130 of salary in certain areas.
