Hourly Pay: $35

Position Overview:
Friends School of Baltimore seeks a substitute nurse for the school Health Center. This individual will be responsible for collaborating with one of the fulltime nurses to care for members of the community including students staff faculty and children enrolled in the oncampus daycare. Responsibilities include:
- Providing nurturing care for the ill and injured school community and provide thorough followup in a timely manner with appropriate Friends School personnel;
- Informing parents guardians or emergency contact person of any significant medical issue which may have occurred during the school day in a timely manner;
- Dispensing medication prescribed by the students physician during school hours in a confidential manner and administering overthecounter medications per parent/guardian approval as deemed necessary;
- Providing routine care for diabetic students including glucose monitoring and insulin administration in accordance with student health plans;
- Documenting visits to the Health Center.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred or the completion of a 2year RN course.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office preferred.
- Experience with electronic health records preferred.
- Previous experience working with children preferred; school setting preferred.
