Childcare Centre Relief Staff
Permanent Parttime to Fulltime

Location: Ancaster Meadow
Total Weekly Hours: 28.25 to 37.5 hours weekly
Schedule: Monday to Friday; shifts are scheduled between 7:00 AM 6:00 PM time frame
Pay Rate (per Collective Agreement includes wage grants):
- RECE: $27.72/hr
- NonRECE: $25.18/hr

- Experience: Minimum of 1year experience working with children up to 12 years of age
- Education:
- Diploma in a field related to childcare such as Early Childhood Education
- Diploma in Child & Youth Worker Child and Youth Care OCT Education Assistant Social Worker or Recreation & Leisure may also be considered.
- Certifications:
- Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) is preferred but not required
- Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Uptodate immunization for TB Tetanus and MMR
- Proof of COVID19 vaccinations
- Skills: Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen is a valuable asset.
- Characteristics:
- Willingness to work in an oncall capacity with flexible scheduling
- Flexibility to take on parttime or fulltime schedules.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to be assigned in multiple locations with minimal supervision.
- Passion for diversity equality and inclusion advocacy.
- Setting and achieving goals planning implementing and evaluating ageappropriate activities that promote childrens cognitive physical social and emotional development in accordance with the Ministry of Educations How Does Learning Happen framework.
- Supervising children in your care at all times and ensuring a safe nurturing environment.
- Organizing indoor and outdoor play areas creating a welcoming space for all children.
- Conducting daily health checks maintaining documentation and addressing any concerns with the Centre Supervisor.
- Collaborating with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board faculty and maintaining positive professional relationships.
