Johnson Controls Inc. seeks Controls Systems Engineer III at its facility located at 6952 Preston Ave Livermore CA 94551.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the design configuration and operation of complete building control systems including fire security and other low voltage control subsystems (i.e. lighting nurse call data networks etc. to meet the intent of the project requirements. Accountable to field teams for quality timeliness and efficiency of designs. Develop complex software programs commissions and troubleshoots to ensure proper operations of the building control system. Provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers consultants Johnson Controls field installation team and subcontractors. Design and configure technically complex building control systems as defined by the contract documents. Create flow diagrams sequence of operations bill of material network layouts and electrical schematics as required. Develop and test software programs necessary to operate the system per the intent of the project requirements. Coordinate the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation. Select order and track the delivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinate factorymounting processes to meet factory and project schedule. Assist in the loading and commissioning of all system and networklevel controllers as required. Assist in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation. Provide field change information to the project team for the creation of asbuilt drawings and software. Keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues. Assist in performing site specific training for owner/operator on the total building control system. Participate in release meeting with project field team. Perform value engineering to provide cost effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction. Adhere to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety. Telecommuting: Hybrid Minimum 3 days per week in office. Travel: 20 domestic travel required to company sites.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Electronic Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field. Eight 8 years of experience as an Application Engineer Design Engineer or related occupation in the HVAC controls engineering industry. Additionally the applicant must have employment experience with: 1 HVAC systems support systems building automations and controls; 2 Utilizing principals of controls systems Boolean logic and C programming or equivalent; 3 Flow layout of air and water systems; 4 Selecting different valve types depending on application and how to proper size valves; 5 Hardware selection and application; 6 Principles of HVAC network standards (MS/TP N2; and 7 MUI and GGT graphics.
RATE OF PAY: $ 175656.00 $ 175656.00 per year
