DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Activities Manager 2 you will supervise the Activities Department at SCI Mercer. You will plan organize schedule and direct wellness programs leisure time activities and entertainment. You will monitor volunteer programs prepare requisitions for supplies and equipment and ensureinmate activities are offered in accordance with DOC policies. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to formworking relationships that encourage inmate participation in activities and programs. In addition you will evaluate subordinate staff participate in mandatory training and testing and exercise therapeutic care custody and control over inmates at all times.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $66250 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two 2 years of experience as a Corrections Activities Specialist(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- One year as a Corrections Activities Manager 1(Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- Three 3 years of experience in developing and conducting a variety of recreational activities including one 1 year in Corrections and one year of supervisory or lead work experience and a bachelors degree with major course work in recreation and physical education;or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
