Job Description
Location: ACT NSW QLD SA VIC
Working Arrangement: Hybrid 40 hours per week

Key duties and responsibilities
In this role you design deploy manage and troubleshoot OpenShift and other Kubernetes clusters within enterprise environments ensuring they meet high standards of availability reliability and scalability. You work closely with developers to automate the deployment scaling and lifecycle management of containerized applications on OpenShift leveraging GitOps platforms and CI/CD pipelines to streamline and accelerate service delivery. Your responsibilities include overseeing cluster operations such as inplace upgrades resource allocation configuration management and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance and responsible resource utilization. You develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Ansible Terraform and Helm to support scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure. With a strong focus on security you apply best practices such as vulnerability scanning network segmentation and rolebased access control to protect the environment. You lead technical teams in delivering OpenShift projects mentor junior engineers and manage timelines and deliverables to ensure successful . Collaborating with crossfunctional teams including developers architects and business stakeholders you help align operations with broader business goals. Additionally you maintain thorough documentation of systems processes and best practices and actively contribute to knowledge sharing within the team. While oncall duties are not the norm you may be required to support critical incidents or provide occasional outofhours assistance during maintenance or special activities.
Requirements
Response must be as a onepage pitch addressing the essential criteria:
Essential Criteria
1. A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology Software Engineering or a closely related discipline is highly desirable. Alternatively candidates with at least five years of demonstrated professional experience in a largescale ICT environment along with a minimum of three years specifically within largescale Kubernetes environments will also be considered.
2. Experience:
A minimum of five years experience in system administration including handson expertise managing OpenShift or Kubernetes clusters.
Deep knowledge and experience in Kubernetes administration covering key areas such as networking security storage and troubleshooting in containerized environments.
Prior experience working within government or other highly regulated sectors with a strong understanding of and compliance with standards such as the Information Security Manual (ISM) and the Essential Eight.
3. Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or equivalent certification or a willingness to obtain these certifications within the first
36 months of employment.

Desirable Criteria:
- Certifications in cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud as well as the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification are highly valued. Alternatively a demonstrated commitment to obtaining these certifications within the first 3 to 6 months of employment is also acceptable.
- Broad experience and understanding of various ICT technologies and methodologies is considered highly advantageous. Key areas of expertise include Kubernetes Ansible Helm Python and Bash scripting CI/CD pipelines Git and Linux systems.
