- Implement treatment programs and document educational activities.
- Conduct ongoing informal assessments and interpret and analyze data.
- Provide written reports and document progress clearly and concisely.
- Develop educationally relevant IEP goals and objectives in collaboration with teachers.
- Develop implement monitor and revise therapy programs during individual and group treatment sessions.
- Submit written reports to appropriate sources according to the schedule using required formats/forms and maintain all servicerelated records.
- Participate in department meetings all staff meetings team meetings and various school clinics.
- Participate and/or cooperate in the aquatic and hippotherapy program (if applicable) by planning and/or scheduling therapeutic treatment for individuals/groups.
- Design fabricate adjust or make minor repairs to therapeutic equipment for individual students; suggest and monitor the provision of appropriate assistive technology.
- Oversee activities of Therapy Assistants Therapy Aides or therapy students and cosign all documentation according to disciplinespecific practice standards and licensing regulations.
- Maintain open communication with family/guardians and child study team case manager on an individual basis.
- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with teachers classroom support staff and resource staff while monitoring therapeutic programs.
- Attend educational courses to maintain and update knowledge and skills; may conduct inservice programs for other staff members.
- Travel and/or conduct home visits as required to meet individual needs.
- Perform other related tasks as directed by the supervisor.
- Participate in yearly hearing screenings using school equipment; document results; notify families/guardians.
Qualifications: - New Jersey Department of Education Certification as Physical Therapist or eligible for emergency certification.
- Bachelors Degree or Higher in Physical Therapist from an accredited university and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) issued by the American Speech and Hearing Association.
- Certification by State of New Jersey as a school Physical Therapist.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and independence in the use of varied therapy treatment approaches.
- Knowledge of child development.
- Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality communicate effectively verbally and in writing establish and maintain proper working relationships with students parents coworkers and supervisors.
- Ability to perform physical activities and maintain a safe working environment.
- Adhere to ethical standards of the profession and travel to various locations.
- Adhere to personnel policies procedures and standard health precautions.
