POSITION TITLE:7th and 8th grade Social Studies
QUALIFICATIONS:Must hold proper teaching certification through the Arkansas Department of Education
REPORTS TO:Teaching Principal and Assistant Principals
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs
School Board policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work collaboratively with the instructional team and grade level interdisciplinary team.
- Implementa variety of effective research based instructional strategies consistently to engage learners with the essential learning standards.
- Design instructional plans with attention to individual student abilities and interests.
- Monitor and assess student progress frequently using both formative and summative assessments and provide progress reports as requested.
- Adjust instruction within the classroom (Tier I) to meet the needs of all learners reteaching when needed and extending learning for others.
- Create a classroom environment that reflects respectful interactions between students and teachers as well as student to student while using effective procedures to support all learners.
- Refer students for alternative services as provided by the District (ESL Special Education Gifted and Talented counseling health services etc..
- Effectively implement district initiatives.
- Maintain consistent and timely parent communication using appropriate structures and resources.
- Meet or exceed professional responsibilities and professional behavior expectations.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Abide by state statutes school board policies and regulations.
- Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Remain current on instructional practices in education.
