About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detailoriented Revenue Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role will be instrumental in ensuring accurate revenue recognition maintaining compliance with ASC 606 and providing critical financial analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of revenue accounting principles experience with contract review audit support and daytoday accounting tasks. This remote position is open to candidates residing in the US or Canada except for Alaska Austin California Chicago Connecticut Dallas Denver Houston Maryland Massachusetts New Jersey New York Rhode Island Washington and Washington DC metro.

In this role you will:

  • Apply ASC 606 principles to analyze and interpret customer contracts ensuring accurate revenue recognition.
  • Assist with the resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
  • Perform revenue calculations and adjustments including allocation of transaction prices determination of performance obligations and recognition of revenue over time.
  • Review customer contracts for revenuerelated terms and conditions identifying potential revenue recognition implications.
  • Collaborate with sales legal and other departments to ensure contract compliance and accurate revenue recognition.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly revenue reconciliations ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for revenue fluctuations.
  • Prepare journal entries and other accounting documentation related to revenue.
  • Assist with monthend and yearend close processes.
  • Help implement process improvements by identifying weaknesses in the close process
  • Champion role model and embed Samsaras cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success Build for the Long Term Adopt a Growth Mindset Be Inclusive Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Bachelors degree preferably in accounting
  • 2 years relevant accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 or IFRS.
  • Proven experience in contract review and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

Ideal candidate:

  • CPA or interest in obtaining CPA
  • Experience working under strict deadlines and ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Must be a fast learner multitasker with a strong desire to learn and a can do attitude
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively
  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Critical thinker able to implement scalable processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills with exceptional attention to detail and followthrough
