Job Description
Job Title: Instructional Coach Math
Reports to: CampusPrincipal
Dept/School: Assigned Campus
Pay Grade: TeacherPay Scale
Wage/Status: Exempt
Days: 187
Primary Purpose:
Support teaching and learning in all content areas.
Education/Certification:
Bachelors Degree from accredited university
Masters Degree in Education preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to coach adult learners.
Knowledge of research based instructional strategies and best practices.
General knowledge of the development of curriculum (preferred Understanding by Design framework)
Demonstrated effectiveness as a classroom teacher and/or teacher trainer/mentor.
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject areas.
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in teaching.
Experience in training and mentoring/coaching adults preferred
Campus leadership experience
Essential Job Functions:
Coaching
- Provide inclassroom coaching in the following areas using the coaching cycle
- curriculum alignment and implementation
- lesson design
- classroom management
- selection and implementation of instructional materials
- analysis of student work and data
- student growth measure implementation and data collection
- Provide job embedded professional development for staff through modeling
- Research review and recommend instructional materials and methods
- Understand and use digital learning resources to support teaching and learning
- Work with teachers to organize and facilitate content planning
Intervention
- Consult with teachers regarding the needs of students.
- Provide support for students needing core content intervention.
- Monitor the progress of students receiving core content interventions.
- Provide input to and participate on the Student Intervention Team regarding interventions and resources.
- Facilitate the planning and implementation of SSI and summer school
Leadership
- Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues students parents and community members.
- Use effective communication skills.
- Serve on the campus leadership team
- Participate in planning and presenting staff development as determined by campus and district needs
- Attend required conferences and meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other administrator that are consistent with general requirements and qualification for the position.
- Models a positive demeanor and growth mindset
