Position: Aquatic Center Coordinator
Reports to: Aquatic Center Director
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Computer proficiency and ability to use oral and written communication effectively.
- Preferred knowledge of the principles and methods involved in the management and operations of large public competitive and recreational swimming pools.
- Ability and willingness to complete CPR/AED water safety instructor first aid lifeguard and pool operator certifications and instructor certification as needed/required.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: Assist in the management planning organization and coordination of the operations and administration of the Districts Aquatic Center.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Model core organizational beliefs and values.
- Communicate openly and effectively with internal and external customers.
- Manage resources effectively to support District goals.
- Assist in providing facility leadership for high school swim club master swim meets and other community events.
- Coordinate scheduling of lifeguards and inservice lifeguard training.
- Assist in providing leadership in the selection assignment and evaluation of aquatic center staff.
- Analyze opportunities for the Aquatic Center and conduct a team effort to design implement measure and improve aquatic programming and increase special events.
- Implement and communicate with necessary stakeholders the Aquatic Center pool schedule.
- Coordinate and oversee a variety of instructional and recreational programs for beginning and experienced swimmers.
- Assist director in supervision of the cleaning of the pool deck areas lobby restrooms and the locker areas/shower rooms.
- Assist Aquatic Center Director with daily chemical tests record maintenance and managing supplies for both Competition and Instructional Pools as needed.
- Assist in managing and/or supervising the access timing media and video surveillance systems of the Aquatic Center.
- Assist with the Aquatic Center recordkeeping as needed such as:
- Participant signin sheets.
- Prepare and submit necessary reports.
- Maintain and coordinate facility rental agreements and applicable usage invoices.
- Assists in preparation of the pool calendar and activity safety.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms: Twelve 12 month classified annual contract
