Job Description
Our Emerging Talent Programs which includes Interns Trainees and Finance Rotational Associates offer unique opportunities for students recent graduates and emerging talent to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies TV shows and other great experiences. These seasonal paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that builds on your experience and develops your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks realworld experience and many educational and social networking opportunities.
This Summer Internship is from May/June through August 29th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday through Friday in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Sony Pictures Animation is an animation studio based in Los Angeles California creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. We pride ourselves on empowering filmmakers to lead the creative process and allowing the hand of the artist to be truly felt with the goal of producing bold and innovative visual storytelling.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Casting Process: Observe and participate in the casting process.
- Research actors for our projects
- Create lists for upcoming shows and features
- Assist in sourcing audio clips of actors for casting presentations
- Own the process of uploading organizing and maintaining auditions
- Assist in administrativetasks
- Anticipate office needs and learn how to one day be an assistant
- Be a very important part of our small department
- Execute expenses scheduling and data entry
The intern will gain experience/exposure to the following:
- How to cast animatedshows and features
- How to communicate professionally and casually with agents executives and creative talent
- Exposure to all other creative departments at Sony Pictures Animation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Passion and focus on casting
- Experience in basic Microsoft Office and Google Suite
Interest in entertainment television comedyand acting - Web/techsavvy proficient in Facebook Twitter YouTube and other social media such as Instagram
- Good eye for talent
- Interest in learning and working with a team
