Job Description
We are seeking a strong communicator and problem solver to join the EPTech (Enterprise Platforms Technology) Finance Team. As a Principal Associate on the team you are responsible for supporting specific leaders within the EPTech organization in support of our customer facing digital platforms and our core modernization journey. You will identify and utilize financial insights to help influence strategy prioritization and outcomes. You and your team will analyze current financial results socialize drivers / impact and provide recommendations based on the results. This role requires strategic thinking and executive level communication as you directly support members of the EPTech leadership team. You will have the opportunity to build relationships across the organization and work collaboratively to deliver on strategic agendas.
Roles require strong communication problem solving strategic thinking and influencing skills in order to effectively:
Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insights
Partner with business leadership to assess the financial implications of ongoing efforts to grow the organization
Develop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior leadership audiences
General Responsibilities:
Financial analysis & reporting: Accurately analyze & explain key cost drivers and monthly variances suggest actions to the business and manage the regular reporting process
Budgeting forecasting and Profit & Loss (P&L) management
Business presentations: Assist in development of presentations to communicate analysis results to senior audiences clearly articulate outcomes of analysis to leadership teams
Adhoc requests and special projects
Independently manage and prioritize workload
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree or military experience
At least 3 years experience in financial analysis
At least 3 years experience with financial modeling
Experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Masters Degree in Finance
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
4 years experience in financial analysis
4 years experience with financial modeling
3 years experience in strategic analysis & planning
Proven business relationship communication interpersonal and influencing skills
Demonstrated independent problem solving and strategic thinking abilities
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to positively contribute to overall success of the team

The minimum and maximum fulltime annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for parttime roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean VA: $117300 $133900 for Principal Financial AnalystCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
