DB2 Database Administrator Contract: 12 Months (with potential extensions) Location: Austin TX (Hybrid One day per month in office)
We are seeking an experienced DB2DBA to provide highlevel application support and maintenance for missioncritical systems. This role is essential in ensuring the continued operation of agency services by analyzing application functions managing data processing and performing necessary data corrections. The successful candidate will also participate in developing new solutions and enhancing existing applications to remedy issues as they arise. The role also includes creating and maintaining comprehensive support documentation for both new and legacy software systems.
Qualifications:
At least 8 years of experience working with DB2 databases.
A minimum of 3 years of experience with AIX Unix or Linux platforms.
At least 3 years of experience in shell programming or scripting.
Preferred: 5 years of experience working with DB2 Z/OS environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide application support including analysis of application functionality and data processing operations.
Identify and resolve data correction issues to maintain seamless agency services.
Modify and enhance existing applications and develop new solutions to resolve functional issues.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure software performance aligns with operational needs.
Develop update and maintain detailed support documentation to reflect system changes and support needs.
Respond to incidents and service requests related to supported applications and systems.
Operate effectively within AIX Unix or Linux environments and provide relevant scripting support.
