Job Description
The Mountain Views School Nutrition Program has an opening for a parttime kitchen assistant position at Barnard Academy. Main responsibilities include picking up prepared meals and meal components at the production kitchen using the school nutrition program van delivery to and meal service at the Barnard Academy and returning to the production kitchen after service.
This is a school year position starting August 23 2024. The position is 4 hours per day 9:30am1:30pm starting at $18.20 per hour increasing with education and experience. Benefit information available upon request. Additional morning hours at WUHSMS available upon request.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Valid Drivers License
Use safe food handling procedures according to VT Department of Health Food & Lodging Regulations
Unload meals from vehicle and set up for meal delivery to classrooms or for grab and go options
Label and put away leftover food
Production record keeping
Wash and sanitize meal service area dishes and pans
Able to use Purchase of Sale (POS) software and computer to claim reimbursable meals
Able to work as a team player within the school and within the school nutrition program
Must enjoy working with children
Serve Safe certification required or can be obtained within the first month of employment
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands: calculating comparing problemsolving evaluating interpreting organizing consulting analyzing planning documenting specifying coordinating implementing and presenting.
Physical Demands: sitting standing climbing stairs adjusting connecting lifting (to 50 lbs. bending keyboarding pulling pushing carrying writing and operating equipment.
Environmental Conditions; inside slippery surfaces chemical exposure biological exposure working around moving objects working alone working in hot temperatures
