Our Financial Controller will play a vital role in supporting our Chief Financial Officer as well as the wider Finance team in driving the financial strategy and operations of the company.
This role can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney with a hybrid work model.
The role will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the business providing insights to support strategic decisionmaking and ensuring robust financial management as we continue to scale.
Being a SaaS business we are incredibly focused on metrics and our Financial Controller will control all leading indicators KPIs funnel metrics and our company wide scorecard to ensure the health of the business is accurately reflected at all times. The role is heavily focused on compliance working across 3 different jurisdictions therefore would suit someone with a selfdisciplined and fastpaced way of working always driving for a positive correct outcome.
This role will be equal parts FP&A overseeing daytoday accounting operations executed with support of a small offshore team and managing our working capital to ensure the company has sufficient liquidity for operations and growth. Overtime we see this role playing a growing role in helping to optimise the companys capital structure and funding strategies as we continue to scale.
Our Financial Controller will also be responsible for mentoring and developing other members of the Finance team and foster a culture of continuous improvement high performance and accountability.
The role
Manage the calculation of bonuses for our Commercial team (based on new bookings) as well as other teams (based on KPI attainment)
Ensure all KPIs company and funnel metrics are updated to accurately reflect the health of the business
Ensure the Operations Plan is updated with actuals including ARR to ensure the framework consistently reflects current business performance
Review both the P&L and Balance Sheet own Balance Sheet reconciliations
Present financial performance in Companywide events as well as play an active role in managing the Board Advisory Sheets on a monthly basis
Ensure any Consulting & Services income is recognised
Manage all Payroll journals and reversals
Review BAS/VAT as well as Superannuation prior to lodgement
End to end management of our EMDG and R&D applications
Manage external audit and tax compliance matters in multiple jurisdictions
Ensure working capital and cash position are managed to support the Companys operations and growth
Your background
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or related field; CPA CFA or MBA is a plus
5 years of experience in a finance role preferably with some exposure to the SaaS industry
Strong understanding of SaaS financial metrics (e.g. ARR CAC LTV)
Proven experience in financial planning analysis and reporting
Solid knowledge of accounting principles tax regulations and compliance
Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
Proficient in financial software and advanced Excel skills
Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problemsolving
Detailoriented and highly organised
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
