This is an exciting opportunity to join University Health Services (UHS) gynecology team. This position will have a primary focus on providing full spectrum outpatient gynecological care but may also provide broader primary care as privileging and licensing allows.
The gynecology team functions within the broader Medical Services team which also includes primary care acute care sports medicine endocrinology and psychiatry. UHS additionally has counseling physical therapy dental pharmacy diagnostic services and public health teams. This multidisciplinary setting provides a high level of support and collegiality for the medical providers within UHS.
This position will report to the Medical Director and serve as a member of the UHS Medical Staff a group of providers who are friendly smart kind and supportive.
This position requires the successful completion of a criminal background check and routine screening of Medicaid and Medicare Exclusion Lists. Employee loses eligibility for employment if on the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) and/or System of Award Management (SAM). In addition employees must follow Compliance with UHS policies regarding tuberculosis screening measles and mumps (MMR) seasonal flu hepatitis B and other immunization requirements.
Nurse Practitioners: Current Oregon license as a Registered Nurse and possession of a valid certification as a Nurse Practitioner issued by the Oregon State Board of Nursing or ability to obtain both by the agreed upon start date of employment.
Physician Associate/Assistant: Possession of a valid Oregon license as a Physician Associate/Assistant and successful completion of the national certification exam or ability to obtain both by the agreed upon start date of employment.
Experience with and commitment to working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds in support of an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Experience with and/or commitment to working effectively within a primary care clinic to support continuity care as well as acute care needs with a strong emphasis on sexual health and reproductive health.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Commitment to lifelong learning and continuous quality improvement.
Proficiency with common outpatient gynecological procedures including LongActing Reversible Contraception insertions/removals.
For Nurse Practitioners: Current Adult or Family or Womens Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification through the ANCC AANP NCC or equivalent organization or ability to obtain the certification by the agreed upon start date of employment.
For Physician Associates/Assistants: At least 2000 hours of clinical work experience.
Three years experience working in a gynecologyfocused outpatient practice.
Current privileges for intrauterine device/intrauterine system insertions and subcutaneous contraception device insertions/removals.
Current Drug Enforcement Administration license for prescription of controlled substances or ability to obtain the license by the agreed upon start date of employment.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Certification or ability to have the certification by the agreed upon start date of employment.
