Adjunct Instructor Lifelong Learning Pathway Micro Entrepreneurship

The University of the District of Columbia is a public land grant institution of higher learning dedicated to providing quality careerfocused undergraduate and graduate programs that prepare students with the knowledge skills and credentials needed to launch enhance or change careers. Incumbents must teach all assigned classes and hours as determined by the semester course schedule; Incumbents will be required to prepare and deliver relevant curriculum to students in the course using a variety of teaching methods to include but not limited to lecture class discussion demonstration labs and projects. The University of the District of Columbia Division of Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Division (UDC WDLL) a branch of the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) is seeking enthusiastic and qualified parttime instructors interested in teaching Entrepreneurial Development Training Course(s).The training programs are intended to provide students with the fundamental intermediate and advanced knowledge skills and abilities of enrolled students. The course(s) will teach students foundational entrepreneurial skills such as innovative problemsolving pitching and financial management and analysis.

• Provide handson guided differentiated instruction to students enrolled in the courses as specified in the schedule and course contract.
• Participate in evaluating and selecting assigned text and instructional materials; prepare course materials and lesson plans.
• Conduct efficient and effective classroom management.
• Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes teaching methodology attendance policies in line with those of the institution texts and readings assignments and deliverables timelines and evaluation criteria.
• Use the institutions learning management system to post syllabus assignments and other materials and to communicate with students in a timely manner.
• Deliver course content using a variety of teaching styles and provide interesting and engaging assignments that demonstrate the realworld applications of concepts covered.
• Regularly communicates and refers students to university and divisionwide student success (academic and career) opportunities resources services events and information to assist students in removing and/or mitigating barriers to employment to achieve their educational and career goals.
• Maintain records of enrollment and attendance assessments and grades and submit class rosters and grade sheets by the deadlines established by the institution.
• Provide an educational environment conducive to learning establishing and maintaining classroom control.
• Encourage students to submit course evaluations/surveys review course evaluations and use feedback to improve course delivery.
• Attend all required meetings to stay abreast of all pathwayspecific and divisionwide policies requirements and expectations.
• Review and adhere to the WDLL Faculty/Instructor guide.
• Meet with the Dean or Pathway Director as needed to discuss all aspects of the course including student progress and curriculum development (may be required to provide input into program development) on a regular basis.
• Adhere to University and divisionspecific policies and guidelines in all matters concerning academics and student and staff conduct.
• Provide student progress reports to the Pathway Director.

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in subject matter area
• Prior teaching experience in the subject field/industry or must demonstrate evidence of teaching potential.
• Must possess current certification in subject matter (Certification must be the same as the course being taught).
• Be familiar with subject area certification processes guidelines and procedures.
