Job Summary of the Toolroom Machinist: The Toolroom Machinist will help build highquality products. You will make critical contributions to the companys production efficiencies and capacities by ensuring consistent highquality and correct parts responsible for tool support and maintenance.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Toolroom Machinist: Work with the Project Engineer to fabricate dies fixtures and tools using CNC machines. Utilize all necessary machines to mill drill turn and grind parts to tolerance and finish. Read technical drawings to set up CNC machines and program in accordance with the blueprints. Use computer software to model cutting paths and consider the tools required to program machines accordingly. Document actions and parts for recurring use items. Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures. Be a member of crossfunctional teams. Participate in educational opportunities.
Education & Experience Requirements of the Toolroom Machinist: 2 years of Machinist experience Prior maintenance and tool support experience Experience working with the following machines: Bridgeport Mill: fly cut mill drill ream or tap 2axis digital readout Manual Lathe: bore thread face turn and 2axis digital readout Surface Grinder: properly square parts to size sharpen stamping dies; primarily A2 and M4 hardened steels ability to set up radius profiled grinding wheels to produce forming blocks with radius. Haas CNC Mini Mill: automated milling setups similar to Bridgeport mill the ability to transition parts from manual milling to CNC is a plus. General Knowledge: Materials; steels cast irons aluminum plastics Feeds and speeds for machining Tooling; drill bits cutting inserts taps. Critical thinking and problemsolving skills. Must be organized and committed to meeting deadlines. Must have a strong attention to detail. Must work well in a team setting. Experience with Tool and Die is a plus.
