Job Description

Job Title: Catastrophe Analyst

Location: City of London

Position Type: Permanent 35 hours per week

Hybrid: 3 days in the office 2 days working from home

Job Purpose:

The Catastrophe Analyst will work within the Exposure Management team to provide Cat Modelling and Exposure Management support to the renewable and nonrenewable energy lines of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all aspects of Catastrophe and Exposure Management reporting as required.
  • Maintain risk dashboards and prcis reporting.
  • Provide portfolio results and aggregations for inclusion in TMHCC Group exposures on a monthly basis.
  • Compile and validate quarterly ELTs for Capital Modelling use.
  • Provide modelling output for pre bind business on both an onshore and offshore basis.
  • Identify and propose solutions for optimizing current Exposure Management processes.
  • Assist with ongoing projects and strive for improvement to current processes.
  • Assist with helping to build and improve reporting processes to cater for growing portfolios in particular for renewable energy.

Skills and Experience Specification:

Essential

  • Strong knowledge of Aggregation and Modelling systems.
  • Educated to degree level preferably with CCRA or equivalent industry qualification.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Strong understanding of Reinsurance and Direct Insurance.
  • Strongorganisationaland workload management skills.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detailwith strong written skills.
  • Competent with coding programmes such as SQL/R/Python.

Desired

  • 23 years experience working in a similar or relevant role with exposure to at least one of the major Catastrophe modelling systems such as Moodys Verisk or CoreLogic.
