About KTRE/KLTV:
KTRE is the dominant station in the Lufkin TX area of East Texas. We are an ABC affiliate and have been #1 by every ratings measure uninterrupted in every newscast for 30 years. We also have a very powerful dominant digital presence in the market. We are a leader in the industry in digital innovation and digital productsoperating and populating 11 different apps and producing an 18houraday live streaming news service from our newsroom on OTT desktop and on our mobile apps. We maintain a staff of fulltime reporters a chief meteorologist and a sports director who operate out of the Lufkin and Nacogdoches area. This anchor/producer position for KTRE will be based in Tyler.
Job Summary/Description:
We are looking for someone who loves hyperlocal news and is ready to anchor weekday 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts and report daily on local news in East Texas. This position also manages shoots and reports a weekly child adoption franchise report. This position is based in KLTVs Tyler studios with the broadcast reaching (and primarily focused on) the Lufkin/Nacogdoches viewing area.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Shooting writing and editing sports packages and other video items for TV and digital products
Copy edit and provide feedback to reporter stories
Managing shooting and reporting our Gift of Love adoption franchise weekly for both KLTV and KTRE audiences
Posting stories online
Potential for occasional live reporting on air and online
Qualifications/Requirements:
A journalism degree or similar is preferred.
A strong college program or professional experience working on camera is strongly preferred.
Professional video camera and professional nonlinear editing knowledge.
Strong interest and study of local state and national news stories.
