Responsibilities
The Hourly Project Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the development of resources for people with disabilities and/or practitioners to improve engagement between people with disabilities and their healthcare providers. This will include webbased research engagement with relevant stakeholders (i.e. disability advocacy programs Disability and Health Advisory Group members Disability and Health team members other internal/external partners as needed) and draft iteration to manage literacy levels. Responsibilities will also include coordination of promotion and publicity activities for resources to improve health care for people with disabilities. This will include assisting to develop social media posts identifying opportunities for learning and other relevant subject matter scheduling posts on the Disability and Health listserv and assisting to develop promotional fliers. This position will partner with the Disability and Health Program team New York State Division of Affairs and other disability advocacy stakeholders to research and develop accessible templates for communication such as accessible formats for presentations social media posts print materials and signs and posters. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a related field and two years of experience contributing to the coordination of program activities in a public health health health regulatory or human services related program; OR an Associates degree in a related field and four years of such experience; OR six years of such experience. A Masters degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience working with people with disabilities or other marginalized communities.
Demonstrated excellent writing skills. Demonstrated experience preparing and providing presentations.
Demonstrated proficiency using Excel Word PowerPoint Zoom Webex and Microsoft Teams.
Conditions of Employment
Hourly grant funded position expected to last through 7/31/25. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting grant deliverables and contract deliverables is required.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York New Jersey Connecticut Vermont or Massachusetts prior to hire. Telecommuting will be available.
