Your role
The Learning & Development team supports the professional development of staff at CBC/RadioCanada offering a wide range of services and programs adapted to the needs of employees including training in leadership professional skills equity diversity and inclusion (EDI) wellbeing technical crafts and varied development opportunities.
In this position you will play an important role in helping to deliver on outcomes of the CBC/RadioCanada National Indigenous Strategy in the area of Learning & Development. You will conduct research engagement auditing planning and communication activities to assess implement and evaluate training initiatives that support strategic outcomes related to workforce Indigenous awareness and cultural proficiency.
You will report to the Senior Director National Indigenous Strategy working closely with the Senior Specialist/Project Coordinator Indigenous Strategy and the Equity Diversity and Inclusion Manager/Senior Specialist Learning & Development.
Your responsibilities:
Conduct research propose and oversee the deployment of relevant training learning and support initiatives for CBC/RadioCanada staff membersin three key areas:
Localized Indigenous cultural awareness and proficiency training for CBC/RadioCanada locations from coasttocoasttocoast
Training on First Nations Inuit and Mtis rights and history including Treaties UNDRIP ADRIP and paths to selfgovernance and selfdetermination for CBC/RadioCanada staff
Traumaaware journalism from First Nations Inuit and Mtis perspectives
Engage and build relationships with external organizations and professional networks involved in Indigenous awareness training and education.
Solicit service offers from external suppliers evaluate services and make appropriate recommendations to Indigenous Office and Learning & Development leadership.
Support and coach internal Indigenous trainers and nonIndigenous trainers involved in Indigenous peoples targeted training in development and delivery of training.
Plan evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness and outcomes of initiatives.
Serve as an ambassador of the CBC/RadioCanada Indigenous Office with internal and external training partners nurturing a culture of awareness mentorship and inclusion.

Your profile
Experience advancing Indigenous cultural language and/or leadership work within a large complex organization through education.
Experience cultivating relationships with Indigenous communities trainers and educators.
Very good knowledge of facilitation techniques both in person and virtually.
Very good knowledge of inclusive design and facilitation principles.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Orientation towards continuous learning and a growth mindset.
Thorough understanding of issues related to accessibility culture disability diversity equity gender Indigeneity race spirituality and their intersections.
University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Education Human Resources or Indigenous Studies.
Five 5 years or more of experience in Indigenousled approaches to training professional development instructional design or group facilitation.
Strong knowledge of Google Workspace and Collaborative tools (Gmail Calendar Docs Sheets Meet).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Bilingualism in French or an Indigenous language is an asset.
Knowledge of the broadcasting industry in Canada and of the role and mandate of CBC/RadioCanada as the national public broadcaster is an asset.
Identification as First Nation Inuk or Mtis is preferred.
Occasional travel may be required.
This position can be based anywhere in Canada.
