The Grade 2 classroom teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved curriculum documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students parents and administration regarding student progress expectations and ideal candidate will:Collaborate with school personnel parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes developing solutions and planning a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of equity and appreciation of diversityMaintain classroom managementPromote high standards and expectations for student achievementPlan and deliver effective instructionExecute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Elementary Teachers including:Teaches reading language arts social studies and and mathematics to students utilizing the districts course of study and other appropriate learning activitiesInstructs students in citizenship and basic subject matterDevelops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each studentUses a variety of instruction strategies such as inquiry group discussion lecture and discoveryTranslates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instructionIdentifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members inassessing and helping students solve health attitude and learning problemsCreates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractivedisplays bulletin boards and interest centersSelects and requisitions books and instructional aids appropriate for grade level Administers group standardized tests in accordance with district and state testing programParticipates in curriculum development programs as other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal Terms in accordance with the Randolph Education Association (REA) collective bargaining agreement. 182 Days)Salary placement will be consistent with REA salary schedule.
