The Opportunity: The purpose of this role is to act as the 1st line of defense 1LOD) for risk identification and control establishment through monitoring testing and reporting for assigned area(s). You will collaborate with business and/or functional leaders to implement the risk management objectives within assigned area(s) and escalate more complex issues to the 2nd line of defense 2LOD) Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team.
Location: Sun Prairie WI highly preferred but will consider any QBE office locations including Chicago IL and New York NY
Work Arrangement: Hybrid presence in the office required 812 days/month)
The starting salary range for this role is between $64000$120000 depending on experience and location
Your New Role:
Conduct Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) and ad hoc risk reviews Undertake the daytoday identification measurement mitigation and reporting of risks in accordance with the Risk Management Framework requirements
Report issues and manage the entry and update process into the system
Undertake root cause analysis and remediation activity of any material risks issues or incidents while keeping ERM informed
Communicate with the ERM Risk Partner to ensure quality of issue documentation rootcause analysis rating crossfunctional dependencies legal/compliance engagement risk treatment action plans and appropriateness of target dates
Manage key risks and escalation where there are control gaps by ensuring the control environment is both designed and operating effectively
Proactively incorporate early and ongoing engagement of the risk function in key business decisions including the development of business plans new products strategic initiatives etc.
Serve as point of contact for assigned business unit with Compliance Risk and Legal on regulatory compliance matters
Required Experience
4 years relevant experience
Required Education
Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Preferred Competencies/Skills
Advanced computer skills and ability to learn new systems
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally
Exceptional organization and project management skills
Strong understanding of insurance concepts and disciplines varies by line of business
Clearly and confidently convey information to various audiences through speech and writing
Preferred Knowledge
Relevant trends standards best practices and information within the industry
Strong analytical capabilities
Familiarity with RSA Archer
Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the roles complexity its location and the candidates professional background including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary regular fulltime and parttime employees will also be eligible for QBEs annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual encourage all candidates to apply even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
